FundApps and SteelEye launch as RegSensus amid a rethink of fragmented compliance technology

LONDON, NEW YORK, SINGAPORE - 27 October 2026 - FundApps and SteelEye today announced the launch of RegSensus, a new RegTech company focused on advancing Regulatory Intelligence through greater consolidation and standardisation of compliance technology, as financial institutions face growing pressure to simplify complex compliance operations.

The combined business serves 400 financial institutions across 30+ countries, with $30 trillion in assets monitored. It brings together FundApps' 16 years of regulatory monitoring expertise and SteelEye's 9 years in trade and communications surveillance.

RegSensus enters the market at a time when financial institutions are reassessing the cost and complexity of their technology infrastructure. Years of investment in point-solution compliance tools, bespoke systems and internal processes have left many firms managing regulatory obligations across multiple providers, datasets and workflows.

Meanwhile, longer trading hours and increasingly complex regulatory requirements across jurisdictions are placing additional demands on compliance teams.

RegSensus is pursuing a different approach: combining broader compliance capabilities with a consensus interpretation of the regulations that underpin them.

"Investment firms rarely win a mandate on compliance, but plenty lose one on it. They need to be competing on performance and service, not on how they each interpret the same regulations," said Frederic Ceyte, CEO of RegSensus.

"Financial institutions have spent years adding technology to address individual regulatory requirements. But every additional system brings its own data, processes and operational overhead. The next step is to bring more of these capabilities together while making the regulatory processes behind them more consistent. That's what we're building towards with RegSensus, combining the expertise of FundApps and SteelEye to help firms manage compliance with greater confidence and less operational complexity.”

Building on shared regulatory standards

RegSensus draws on FundApps' long-standing approach to regulatory standardisation.

"Financial institutions shouldn't have to interpret every regulatory requirement from scratch. Our approach brings together specialist regulatory expertise and insights from a global client community to develop and continually strengthen shared regulatory rules. Clients retain responsibility, but they benefit from a more consistent and tested foundation," said Jonathan Bradshaw, Chief Product Officer at RegSensus.

FundApps' established approach to shared regulatory rules and regulatory monitoring forms the foundation of RegSensus' Trusted Regulatory Standard. The combined business is now extending this model across its broader reporting and surveillance capabilities. RegSensus takes its name from the firm's mission to provide a Regulatory Consensus as the market faces global regulations that shift and diverge at speed.

Building on this standard, the business applies AI and automation to reduce the manual work involved in compliance processes. In a recent analysis, RegSensus clients using its Result Investigation tool, in which AI takes on the manual checking of compliance alerts, saw a 25 per cent reduction in disclosure resolution time, illustrating how AI built on trusted rules can ease the operational burden on compliance teams.

Backed by FTV Capital

The merger is supported by FTV Capital, which invested in FundApps in July 2025 and provided additional capital for the merger with SteelEye when it was announced in November 2025.

"AI will reshape compliance, but only on rules and data firms can trust," said Richard Earnshaw, partner at FTV Capital.

"That's what RegSensus is built on. Its standard is already proven in regulatory monitoring and now extending into surveillance. We'll keep backing the team's investment in agentic AI."

Existing FundApps and SteelEye clients will continue to receive the products, expertise and service they rely on throughout the transition.
